Whilst all our scheduled Secondary fixtures were once again cancelled due to waterlogged pitches our two Primary teams defied the elements by travelling to Chester for two Friday evening encounters played on a 3G surface.
We were able to put out two competitive squads but our hosts were very strong and the long journey undoubtedly had an effect as we noticeably tired towards the end of both matches. The U11's, with man of the match Leighton Newman looking extremely confident on the ball, scored three times through Josh, Seb and an own goal and probably deserved more than an 8-3 loss whilst the U10's found themselves just on the wrong side of a 5-3 scoreline.
A very big plus from the U10's match, however, was the performance of Prem Sidhu who scored a hat trick in an extremely promising debut.
