Saturday 23rd November

Pride of place this week-end must go to the U10's who defeated Sutton Coldfield 7-1 at Castle Vale. Whichever combination of players we seem to pick, the goals continue to flow and on this occasion, debutant Elliot Mallin went crazy by scoring 5 goals and he could well have achieved a double hat trick. Finley Brooks and Callum Lovatt were also on target but above all this was a another great team performance with everyone making a telling contribution.

The U11's entertained a very strong Wirral side at New Academy and took a 1-0 lead through a stunning free kick from man of the match Seb Hill but our excitement was short lived and the lads eventually lost 6-1. The pitch was very poor and the visitors, who were physically stronger and bigger than us, were good value for their win.

The U13's had a nightmare morning and were forced to travel to Aston with only 10 players due to a sickness bug causing three of our lads to cry off at the last minute. As a result AES cruised to a 7-0 victory but the score doesn't tell the whole story. The lads put in a battling performance, with Rhys, Lennon and Lewis outstanding, and both sets of parents applauded the lads off at the end. We were never going to win against such a powerful side but only a brilliant display by the home keeper prevented us from scoring some consolation goals and where was VAR when the referee denied us a cast iron penalty when the score was only 2-0!!
