April 11th 2026.u10 Boys back in action.

A bright and energetic Erdington u10 side started the game strongly at Brookvale and pushed   Wolverhampton back on their heels as they raced into an early three-goal lead in this 7v7 encounter.  The Wolverhampton lads attempted to settle into their passing rhythm, but such was Erdington’s pace, determination and quality that it was virtually impossible for them to gain a sustained grip on the game but we were given a lifeline when Arjan broke down the right and calmly finished with a low shot into the bottom corner. Spurred on by their success the lads created a few more chances before the break, without reducing the deficit further, but no-one came closer than Arjan who saw his audacious lob drift just wide of the post after Zac had pressured the Erdington keeper.

Erdington capitalised on a loose pass in the defensive third to make it 4-1 early in the second half to virtually seal the win and a fifth from a well-struck direct free kick that beat both the defence and Stefan in goal, left us merely playing for pride. Wolverhampton continued to battle and were rewarded when Jaxxon delivered a dangerous free kick, which Aaran turned home from close range to reduce the deficit to three goals once again. Jaxxon thought he had added a third with a direct strike from an indirect free kick, but the goal was correctly disallowed and there was no further scoring as  Erdington remained composed as they held on for a deserved

5-2 victory.

Leo was chosen as our Player of the match for an excellent all-round performance and consistent effort, but team manager Jaz Bains praised the whole team for their resilience and attitude. He urged the lads not to become be too disheartened because, apart from the first 15 minutes, they had competed well and given our opponents a good game despite missing key players and having no substitutes available. We’re back at Warstones next Saturday, and if we can play with more intensity, speed, and aggression from the kick off then I’m convinced that the wins will come. Erdington certainly showed us the way today and we need to follow their example.

Team: Stefan, Leo, Lucas, Jaxxon, Aaran, Arjan, Zac.
