October 17th 2026. Thrilling draw for u11 Boys.
The Wolverhampton Schools U11 representative team produced an entertaining performance against Erdington in their latest inter-district fixture at Brookvale Academy on Saturday. Our lads grabbed the initiative from the kick off and made good use of the space available on the larger pitch and took the lead in a first half full of end-to-end football. Cobie’s free kick was initially saved by the Erdington goalkeeper, but Lucas was the first to react and confidently put away the

October 10th 2026. Disappointment for u11 Boys.
The Wolverhampton Schools u11 representative team experienced a difficult afternoon in their latest inter-district fixtures, suffering defeats against North Shropshire and Erdington. These two results were disappointing, but representative football is also about learning, developing and understanding what is required to compete against other district teams. After losing our opening game 7-1 to North Shropshire there was obviously plenty for the boys to reflect upon but the me

October 17th 2026.u10 Boys busy at Brookvale.
Two matches today and both games provided valuable opportunities for the players to develop their understanding of the game, work together as a team and enjoy representative football. The league game against Harborne opened at a fast pace with both sides showing plenty of enthusiasm and determination but it was Wolverhampton who gradually began to carve out the better opportunities, with the lively Jack Stenson causing lots of problems for our opponents defence through his f

October 3rd 2026. u11 Boys beaten by Sefton.
Wolverhampton Schools’ u11 Boys welcomed Sefton Schools to Hamilton’s impressive football facility in Tettenhall for this English Schools Cup fixture and were given a real taste of what it is like to compete at National level. Sefton, representing the Liverpool area which is a hotbed of Soccer, arrived with a strong reputation as one of the country’s leading teams at this age group and we knew we would be facing a formidable challenge. The lads were instructed to stay compact

October 3rd 2026. Plenty to build on for u10 Boys.
There was plenty of learning and experience for these nine young players in another demanding morning of inter-district league football. Two defeats and plenty of valuable lessons for the players to take into their next fixtures. Wolverhampton made a flying start in their opening game against Kings Norton, taking the lead inside the first 30 seconds but unfortunately this merely spurred our opponents into action and they responded by scoring two quick goals. Jack had showed e

September 26th 2026.Win & Loss for u11 Boys.
The u11 Boys had a squad of 12 players this morning for their two 7x7 league fixtures which meant that Jazz had a real challenge ensuring that everyone had meaningful playing time. We all love to win games but the focus at this age is not simply on results. Boys need to be encouraged to play football, make decisions, try things, learn from mistakes and enjoy the experience of representing Wolverhampton Schools. Everything went perfectly to plan in our opening game against Nor

September 26th 2026. Close win for the u10's.
The u10’s played Aston this morning in a hugely entertaining game packed with quality, attacking football, plenty of goals and, importantly, lots of learning for the young players. We made a good start and Jack put us into an early lead shortly after his earlier effort had been saved. George did brilliantly to close down an Aston player and win possession before setting up Jack, who produced a superb left-foot finish. 1-0 to Wolverhampton. Aston responded with a corner, but W

September 19th 2026. u11 Boys end with a win.
The two friendlies our u11 Boys played this morning against Erdington and Aston, provided valuable opportunities for our players to experience representative football and to continue to develop as a team.We generally find that teams from Erdington tend to be very difficult to play against and so it proved. Wolverhampton showed some good passages of play, but our new look team struggled to test the opposition and ultimately were well beaten, although the 4-0 scoreline is perha

September 19th 2026. Mixed results for u10 Boys.
A really useful morning of football for our Wolverhampton U10s with games against Erdington B and East Birmingham. The first game was difficult and we were slow to get going against an Erdington side who were bright and busy from the start, hitting both the post and crossbar in the early stages.Their tricky players caused us problems and Jack, Ethan and George were under pressure whenever they received the ball and we were unable to build any real momentum. Nevertheless, we

September 12th 2026. u11 Boys back in action.
The u11 Boys were in tournament action this morning and began with an excellent 2-1 victory over Sutton Coldfield. After falling behind, the team showed great character to respond and turn the game around. Theo scored both goals, with Malachi providing some excellent assists. The players worked hard for each other and showed some really good attacking football. The momentum was broken ,however, in our second game when we were beaten 3-1 by Kings Norton although the scoreline fa

September 7th 2026. Great start for the u10 Boys.
Following a series of trials and training sessions, the u10 players were understandably excited and perhaps a little nervous as they arrived at the impressive Brookvale Arena, Aston Villa’s indoor football facility situated close to Villa Park and they were immediately thrown into some challenging games against strong opposition from across the Birmingham area but what a morning of football they produced! Our opening game was a tough encounter against Erdington & Saltley and

June 2026. Primary Football Review.
Throughout the 2025-26 season, hundreds of children from across the city were given the opportunity to represent their school in competitive matches and by doing so they were able to enjoy the experience of playing football with their friends. Whatever their level of experience, every player had the opportunity to develop their skills, improve their understanding of the game and, most importantly, build up their confidence. The importance of primary school football extends fa

April 18th 2026. Heartbreak for the u11 Boys
This was the final appearance of our Wolverhampton’s Boys’ u11 Representative team and the lads were hoping to go out in style by winning The Daniel Sturridge Cup. To do so, however, they knew they would have to top a seven team mini league and they made the best possible start with Thai and Lucas grabbing the goals in a 2-0 opening victory. The lads came flying out of the traps and this was attacking football at its very best. The second game against North Shropshire was muc

April 11th 2026.u10 Boys back in action.
A bright and energetic Erdington u10 side started the game strongly at Brookvale and pushed Wolverhampton back on their heels as they raced into an early three-goal lead in this 7v7 encounter. The Wolverhampton lads attempted to settle into their passing rhythm, but such was Erdington’s pace, determination and quality that it was virtually impossible for them to gain a sustained grip on the game but we were given a lifeline when Arjan broke down the right and calmly finish

April 4th 2026. u10 Boys on top form.
Wolverhampton U10s delivered an impressive performance at Warstones Primary to ultimately secure an excellent victory over Halesowen in an entertaining and competitive friendly after the first half had been closely contested, with chances at both ends. Our keeper needed to produce a number of important saves to keep the scores level but with Bertie causing chaos at the other end of the pitch with his pace, the Halesowen goal looked far more under threat. The standout moment o

March 14th 2026.Disappointment for the u11 Boys.
The u11 Boys began the morning against Kings Norton in a good position to win the league and, despite knowing the importance of this fixture, they had no reason to fear the opposition in the light of their recent excellent form but what could go wrong, did go wrong, and they were never able to fight back after conceding a couple of early goals. Kings Norton grew in confidence as the match progressed and whatever changes were made the squad seemed unable to find a way to con

March 7th 2026. U10’s beaten after a good start.
Wolverhampton started the game brightly and Jaxxon had a couple of early efforts on goal that were well saved by the North Shropshire goalkeeper but both teams looked lively in attack during the opening stages and at the other end we were indebted to Ethan for keeping the scores level. It was a tribute to both sides that the tempo remained high throughout the rest of the half and after Jaxxon and Lucas had both seen shots go just over the bar, and North Shropshire had come ev

March 7th 2006. u11 Boys march on with another win.
Wolverhampton made a fantastic start against Aston and in the opening minutes, Jakson showed excellent awareness in goal, to spot Corban’s run, and his long clearance bounced over the Aston defender, enabling Corban to lift the ball over the advancing keeper to give us the lead with a composed finish. Corban continued to cause problems for the opposition but Aston responded well and managed to level the game at 1-1 and the rest of the half was exciting, end-to-end and played

February 28th 2026. Great win for the u11 Boys.
The u11’s faced old rivals South Birmingham this morning and left themselves with a mountain to climb after trailing 1-0 at half time but what a transformation after the break. Indeed the second-half turn around was world-class and Hassan was at the heart of everything. He provided the engine in midfield, set the tempo from the centre of the park, and broke up attack after attack, allowing us to push forward and break the lines and eventually the pressure paid off. Thai found

February 21st 2026. u10's in Kings Cup & Kings Vase action.
Football… but not as we know it. This was a tactical adventure and before every game, captains stepped forward to draw a mysterious “Game Changer” card. This meant in an instant, the rules could flip and we could expect extra players, double-value goals, sudden 1v1 duels and even goalkeeper-versus-goalkeeper facing each other in a showdown. And if scores were level we would go straight into 3v3 extra time. No time to think with everything so fast, frantic and unforgiving. No

February 14th 2026. u10 Boys on top form.
Team manager Jazz Bains challenged the u10 players to use this friendly against Erdington as an opportunity to develop their passing, teamwork and patterns of play, and the lads certainly responded by producing a disciplined performance against an energetic opponent. Both sides were clearly focussed on keeping possession and building attacks with purpose but Wolverhampton could hardly have made a better start as we took the lead with our very first attack. Sehaj striking a p

February 14th 2026. u11 Boys fine QF Cup win.
Wolverhampton u11’s produced their best performance of the season when their faced Aston this morning in an eagerly anticipated Cup quarter-final encounter at Brookvale. Every player rose to the occasion producing a display full of energy, quality and sharp attacking play which fully vindicated the faith that team manager Eddy Hall has always had in this group of players. The breakthrough came early when Thai won possession in midfield and played Corban through on goal.Corban

January 31st 2026. u11 boys face Erdington.
Wolverhampton U11 Boys faced a physically and technically impressive Erdington team this morning and produced arguably their best first-half performance of the season. Erdington were largely restricted to long-range efforts which were comfortably dealt with by Jakson in goal and the only real surprise was that the lads were not able to take a more substantial lead into the interval. Arjan, who had been drafted in from our u10s, breaking the deadlock with a superb left foot ha

January 24th 2026. u10 Boys in semi-final action.
Wolverhampton Schools Under 10s bowed out of the cup at the semi-final stage after a hard-fought defeat to Erdington Schools, in a match that showcased effort, resilience, and promising performances from a much-changed side containing four new players making their competitive debut. The first half was evenly contested, with both sides creating chances until we needlessly conceded two goals and the team never really recovered from this early setback. The lads eventually lost 5

December 20th 2025. The u11 Boys unlucky to lose.
Wolverhampton faced a strong South Birmingham side, who were top of the league with a 100% record, and matched them for long spells in both possession and chances created despite missing key players and having to play an unfamiliar 8v8 format. Thai created our first chance with a well-worked effort that went wide in a bright opening, and Fabien also went close after good work from Hassan in midfield, but eventually South Birmingham took the lead and we were rocked back on our

December 13th 2025.u11 Boys go down fighting.
From the outset, this was a closely contested encounter with Kings Norton but Wolverhampton created the first clear opportunity when Mustafa volleyed a dangerous cross across the face of goal. Corban did well to get his head to the ball, but it was just too high for him to direct it on target and we had cause to rue this missed opportunity when our opponents finally broke the deadlock with superb effort into the top orner of the net which gave Jakson no chance. We responded p

December 13th. A Christmas blip for the u10 Boys.
A much-changed Wolverhampton side faced a challenging fixture against North Shropshire with three players making their league debuts and others returning after absence. As a result the team took a little time to develop into a cohesive rhythm but they nevertheless competed well in the early stages. North Shropshire broke the deadlock, by finishing from close range after a period of pressure but Wolverhampton responded well and soon drew level through a move which began with a

November 29th 2025. Goal fest for the u10's.
Wolverhampton started the game brightly with Alessandro rattling the post early on, but it was Erdington who struck first and they soon doubled their lead when a low shot slipped under Stefan to give them a 2-0 advantage. It got even worse when a lack of defensive organisation allowed them to add a third but this only served to spark us into action and Ciaran pulled one back with a precise finish into the corner. Minutes later we were extremey unlucky to see an effort come ba

November 22nd 2025. u11 Boys pay for slow start.
Wolverhampton were caught cold against South Birmingham, falling 4–0 behind inside the first half with a mixture of unforced defensive mistakes and a series of slick, well-worked South Birmingham moves all contributing to our downfall. Just when it appeared that Wolverhampton were dead and buried, however, a moment of brilliance offered up a brief lifeline and clearly lifted our spirits. Lucas meeting a dropping ball with such accuracy that his superbly struck volley gave th
