After so many near misses this season the girls finally got their just deserts with victory this evening at Bodymoor Heath. They held the advantage of course as they came into this final session as league leaders after the first series of games but we needed another good performance to complete the task and the girls did that magnificently by remaining unbeaten once again against some strong opposition.The first game was key against our closest rivals, Sutton Coldfield, and we made the worst possible start by conceding an early goal but Millie
broke clear to slide the ball home to level the scores and ultimately we were satisfied with a point despite looking the more likely team to snatch a win.
The next two matches were equally tight but Avaani was able to score the decisive goal against South Staffs and in a game of few chances against North Shropshire we comfortably held on for a 0-0 draw and another crucial point.Our final game against Walsall could again after started better but we showed our resolve to come back from a 1-0 deficit due to the dynamic duo of Avaani Heyer and Millie Barnfield. Millie slotting in the equaliser after Avaani's initial shot was well saved and the two players combing well once again for Millie to fire in the winner.
