January 17th 2026. u12 girls back in Cup action.

Wolverhampton Under 12 Girls produced a determined and resilient performance in a highly competitive National Plate encounter against Swansea, pushing all the way to the final whistle despite a narrow 2–1 defeat. The match was evenly contested from start to finish, with neither side able to fully dominate for long periods but if anything Wolverhampton probably looked the stronger before the break and went into half-time enjoying a spell of ascendancy despite the game remaing goaless. Our girls had showed confidence in possession and the ability to build momentum, patiently looking for the right formula to unlock the Swansea defence and create clear chances on goal, and hopes were high that we would eventually go on to win the tie.

The second half continued in the same hard-fought fashion but by this stage Swansea were managing to carve out the clearer opportunities and eventually scored twice to take the game beyond us. Wolves responded with several promising attacks of their own and a fine goal from Alarna Samuels but as the game became increasingly more scrappy and intense, it became evident that this wasn't going to be our day. Injuries to Megan and Clara didn't help but every Wolverhampton player gave their all, showing fantastic commitment, teamwork, and fighting spirit throughout.

The girls supported one another, never stopped battling and produced a performance they can be proud of. There is real potential in this group and plans are underway to arrange fixtures against teams such as Walsall and Harborne in the near future. A big thank you to all the parents and friends for their continued supporrt. It is hugely appreciated.
