December 20th 2025. The u11 Boys unlucky to lose.

Wolverhampton faced a strong South Birmingham side, who were top of the league with a 100% record, and matched them for long spells in both possession and chances created despite missing key players and having to play an unfamiliar 8v8 format. Thai created our first chance with a well-worked effort that went wide in a bright opening, and Fabien also went close after good work from Hassan in midfield, but eventually South Birmingham took the lead and we were rocked back on our heels. Nevertheless, the signs were looking promising as Lucas delivered a dangerous cross which narrowly missed its target and Fabien showed great pace to reach a loose ball after the South Birmingham goalkeeper had rushed out of his area but the equalizer wouldn't come despite Thai continuing to cause real problems for the opposition down the left. Wolverhampton therefore went into half-time a goal down feeling a little aggrieved given the quality of chances they had created.

The second half followed a similar pattern. Jakson made a good block early on, but South Birmingham were quick to react to the rebound and extend their lead and although our lads kept pushing, further opportunities were sqandered and that crucial goal, which would have put us back in the match, proved to be elusive. South Birmingham went on to score a third goal just before the end to confirm the result but overall this was a strong performance full of effort, teamwork and attacking intent against really top opposition. On another day the chances we created would have been rewarded, and the players can be very proud of how they competed. Despite the result, there were several standout performances and the Player of the Match award was shared between Thai and Zora. Thai, for his constant attacking threat, and Zora, for an excellent defensive performance.

Team: Jakson, Zora, Charlie, Hassan, Lucas, Monroe, Thai, Fabien.
