The game started very evenly with both teams creating chances at both ends of the pitch but the Wolverhampton lads were the first to settle into a pattern and we almost took an early lead when Jaxon ,who was having plenty of success every time he took on a player down the right hand side, saw his shot come back off the post.Zac was equally effective on the left and with Harry Gillett and Ben Johnson combining so effectively it was only a matter of time before we grabbed the lead. The breakthrough eventually came when Ben Johnson fired Jaxon's low cross into the net and a few minutes later the impressive Harry Gillett doubled our advantage with a powerful left footed drive from distance. The floodgates had finally opened and Jaxon got a fully deserved goal to finish the first half. Half time : Wolverhampton 3 East Birmingham 0.
Despite our three goal advantage we knew we had to be positive in the second half because East Birmingham had created some good chances and they would have undoubtedly scored if Toby hadn't been in top form between the sticks. Our U10's grew in confidence, however, and whilst it took a while for us to get that fourth goal it was clearly coming. Cesar's shot was initially well saved by the keeper but he had no chance when Zac Myers crashed home the rebound to make the score 4-0.Zac was our man of the match and the opposition had no answer to his lively all action display and it was no surprise when he broke clear of the defence , rounded the keeper, and passed the ball into an empty net for 5-0. Cesar, who had made a positive impact on the game after coming on at half time, completed the scoring when he gained possession on the right wing and superbly lifted his shot over the advancing keeper.
