Nothing seems to be going the way of the Primary Boys team at present and once again they lost a game despite being in control for long periods. Today's friendly against Erdington, which was originally scheduled for December, provided an ideal opportunity to show what the lads are really capable of after losing 3-1 to Harborne on the previous saturday after Theo had given us a deserved lead and we had even seen a penalty saved but alas it was not to be.The first half against Erdington this morning was fast and furious, with both teams creating numerous chances, and once again it was Wolves who found the breakthrough. It was a wonderful strike from Ben Johnson worthy of winning any match but unfortunately it didn't take long for the oppostion to equalise and eventually take control of the match. There was very little between the two teams but one Erdington player made all the difference, and his goal and assist, took the game away from us and we faced a 3-1 deficit at the break.
The Wolverhampton lads had given everything and gone forward at every opportunity, with little reward, and continued in a similar fashion at the start of the second half but our task only became harder when Erdington scored their fourth goal. At that point many teams would have folded but to their credit the lads fought back and it was now Theo's turn to take centre stage. Our player of the match began by scoring with a a long range effort that went underneath the keeper's feet and then brought us within range of grabbing an unlikely draw with a magnificent strike ten mintes from the end. With the score at 4-3 , and our lads clearly rejuvenated, our opponents knew that they were really under pressure but they somehow dug in and there was to be no further scoring.
Squad: Ruben Elnatane, Ahyan, Theo, Carter, Ben Johnson, Caden, Kian, Jaxon, Deshayan.
