Wolverhampton Schools Under 10s produced another confident and composed performance on Saturday as they recorded a 3–0 victory over North Shropshire Schools FA.The team started brightly, quickly finding their rhythm and taking control of possession and the first warning sign for the visitors came when Jaxxon unleashed an effort that flew just over the bar. Moments later, Dilroop’s strike was deflected wide for a corner as Wolverhampton continued to pile on the pressure and with Dilroop and Jaxxon combining so cleverly in midfield our opponents were really struggling to stem the tide.Jaxxon forced a fine save from the Shropshire keeper and when the breakthrough eventually came it arrived from a move of real quality. A superb diagonal pass from Austin finding Alessandro, who true to form, needed no second invitation to fire Wolverhampton into a deserved lead.
Wolves doubled their advantage soon after, again through Alessandro, who reacted the quickest to turn in the rebound from another Jaxxon effort and right on the stroke of half-time, we grabbed a third and what a goal it was. Picking up the ball in midfield, Jaxxon drove forward and unleashed an unstoppable strike from distance to virtually seal the win and the second half saw Wolverhampton continue to dominate possession and territory. Not surprisingly North Shropshire dug in and chances were harder to come by but we were able to keep up the pressure to the final whistle sure in the knowledge that our defence was rock steady and on the very rare occasion we were put under any threat Stefan showed how impressive he is between the sticks. He was calm, confident, and commanding once again , and continues to impress week after week with his consistency and leadership from the back.
Jaxxon put in another all-round outstanding display in midfield, working tirelessly to break up play, creating chances, and constantly driving the team forward but on this occasion Austin won the Player of the Match award for his sharp tackling, intelligent positioning, and excellent distribution throughout. His ability to read the game and turn defence into attack was really impressive and set the tone for much of Wolverhampton’s success.A very pleasing performance all round — full of teamwork, effort, and quality. Well done, Wolverhampton!
